I am a little confused.

I was quite heavily involved in answering questions yesterday and early this morning at about the 22-23 hour mark. It is now 3 hours since earnings were updated and now I see that I have apparently earned nothing since Wednesday 17th of January.
Is this a glitch or have I really earned nothing?

This could be simple time zone issue or even simple timing issue. Wait for one more day and see whether your account is updated with additional money or not.
I would advise not to worry about it. My lot seems to be doing his earnings update and calculation very professionally and I feel very confident that you would be rewarded for your responses.

Depending on what time zone you are in may make a difference if those questions and answers were counted towards Thursday earnings. I am not sure what the exact cut off is, but I believe it is close to mid night central time. I have noticed that if I am up really late posting that those answers are not always counted when earnings are updated. I would email MyLot directly and find out what the cutoff is so you can figure out what is going on. When the earnings updated, you should have at least had Thursday, January 18, 2007 with a 0 in the earnings column.
