How To Get Promoted?

Do we wait for our boss to promote us or should we take charge and ask them to promote us?

give your best for your work,never ask to the others to do something that you can do..your boss have to see that you are eficient..but dont forget to be human, a good one..it count points in these days too :)

I say we work smart and wait for that promotion. It took me less than 2 months to get promoted w/o my asking so I guess working smart pays off :)
