Hi there again...both my cats are leash trained to go on outdoor excursions since we live in a busy city near a major highway. All cats can be trained to walk on leash it comes down to slowly densitizing a cat to get used to wearing a harness and then a leash, etc. Here's a website that shows how to leash train a cat: http://www.peoriahs.org/catleash.html

Hiyas again...just a note: the website I offered is not mine just one of many on the Internet who offer ways to help train cats to walk on leash.

It is more about it wanting to go outside and play in the grass and me not wanting a knock on the door from the neighbors house or the golf course I live on or some stranger knocking on the door saying 'sorry I just ran over your cat'.
Trying to have the best of both worlds for 'Buddy'.

You need to do it on a harness and when they are young. That is how my friend did it with her Siamese. But, you must be very careful that your cat never runs outside, once she is used to it. They don't always come, like a dog will.

We have tried the harness and he pretends like it is nothing (he will wear it just fine) but when left alone he can get out of it in 2 seconds flat... (spying on him found that out).
His territory has not spread too far past our yard and as long as that is the case (I try to leave the grass high so he can play in it) I am not going to be concerned.
