How often do you replace your toothbrush? It is recommended that you replace it every 3-4 months. I keep this in mind, but usually replace it when I see the bristles not holding their shape. It is also recommended to use a soft toothbrush to avoid damage to the gums.

I also use a soft toothbrush. I have an indicator on my toothbrush that tells me when its time to replace it. It usually winds up being 3 months. By that time the bristels are loosing their shape and its time for a new one. They sell toothbrush sterilzation kits now that i would love, it helps the life of your toothbrush too.

I have one of those battery operated toothbrushes. And they sell the replaceable heads for them. Which is great because for some reason, my partner is rougher on the bristles than I am. LOL
So, I replace them when I think they need to be replaced.
There is way too much for me to keep track of. The last thing I want to add to my calendar is the "Time to replace toothbrush head". LOL

We have one that plugs into the wall. Hubby uses it more than I do.

I use normal tooth brush and I usually change when the brush becomes soft. Normally I use one tooth brush for atleast 3 months.

That's not weird. You're supposed to floss and brush after every meal.

I use the SoniCare electric toothbrush, and I replace the brush head every 3 months after I go to the dentist. I have my teeth cleaned every 3 months at the dentist because I build up a lot of tartar, and it's easier to remember to change it after the appointment.

I replace my toothbrush every 6 months. When I have my 6 months check and cleaning at the dentist office they always give me a new toothbrush and I replace my old one then. They do, of course, give me a soft toothbrush.

I find I am always replacing my toothbrushes. I am constantly dropping them and rather than wash them I chuck them into the bin. For this reason, I keep my medicine cabinet full of toothbrushes.

I have an electric toothbrush and the bristles change from blue to white when the brush part needs changing. I think it's about every 3 months though.

To be honest I didn't replace them until they started to look bad as well. But now, I don't use manual brushes any longer. I belong to a site that'll send you things to try out once in awhile for free; you give feedback, do word-of-mouth, etc. for points/rewards. I got a free Sonic toothbrush and most people know that those are almost $100.
If you would like Butterfly, send me a pm and I'll give you my url for the site; it's pretty cool.
I'll never use a different toothbrush again.

I do the same thing. I think it is the toothbrush company that said to replace them every 3 months. They just want the money. We always use a soft toothbrush also.

I replace ours any time the person is sick for sure! Then if there's no other reason to replace it other than just time, generally every 3 months.

I too will toss out a toothbrush if we have had an illness, especially if it is the flu.

Quite simply: new tube of toothpaste = new toothbrush. It usually works pretty well. The toothbrush isn't shaggy, but is starting to look a little worn. I doubt it would be a couple of months, but it is so much easier to replace the two together.

Good system, but we go through toothpaste in a month... And I'm too cheap to buy a new tootbrush every month...

I use a soft toothbrush and I do change it 3 monthly .. I also use a weak solution of Milton to sterilise the toothbrush regularly .. and I've done that for years and years ..
Nowadays of course it's an electric toothbrush that I use .. much better than brushing manually I find .. and I've always had a 'thing' about putting toothbrushes in my mouth .. I mean who knows what germ has landed on it since it was last used ..
If I can't use Milton to sterilise it .. say I'm on holiday or something .. I take along a weeks supply of a good mouth wash and did my toothbrush in that before using it ..

Our toothbrushes are replaced about every four months and sometimes less than that. Another thing that we do to is to put them in hydrogen peroxide when we are not using them. It keeps them sanitary and fresh. I have the phobia 'what if someone else uses it or what if someone coughed or sneezed on it', LOL so that's why we put ours in hydrogen peroxide. It's a peace of mind and germ free thing, LOL.

My hubby grabs mine every now and again. I really hate it when he does that.
