A friend of mine is being terminated. what should I do?

I know encouraging words are all i can give her. But how can i really help her. We are in the same team/department. Is it right to talk to our boss why she's being terminated? or will i just put myself in jeopardy?

Bosses don't like it when people do stuff like that- I did that once my boss was gonn aly off a woman who was 60 and I was like 37 at the time so I told him I would train her to do my job and he could lay me off instead, (basically it would be easier for me to get another job then it would her cause of her age) but my boss didn't lay off either once of us - but he never really was happy with me after that.

actually, i tried emailing my boss, not really questioning him, but just asking if my friend was given another chance to prove herself. so far, i got no clear answers, just "she's terminated because of poor performance, and i can't give a a good recommendation for her to be transfered to another department"... and that was a shocker.... she will not have an approval to transfer to another department.... the issue is currently on hold, since there are alot of her friends who asks the HRD about the issue. what they did? they ask her not to go to the office, take a vacation leave (paid) until they can resolve the issue... as for us... her friends... we think, this is just a strategy to lay her off. :( i feel really sorry for her.

Tell her that this means God has something better for her down the road. The only job I ever got fired from was actually a blessing in disguise. Help her stay positive, as her perfect job is out there waiting for her.

i actually told her to be positive and hugged her while she cry. i just wish i can do more. she's worried now cause she's a single mom with 2 kids.

I wouldn't ask your boss why they are making the choice to terminate your friend. Depending on the issue, it may cause problems for you. To help your friend, make sure that you are there for them. You can also offer to be a reference for them.

hey u can talk to ur friend for any help that u will be able to do to her,also u can support her mentally as at this point of time what one needs is mental support.
