Giving birth live on TV!!!

We have here in Romania a couple of media made celebrities - Irinel and Monica Columbeanu and they have a sort of Reality Show, sharing almost all aspects of their life.
Latest, Monica giving birth live on TV to a beautiful baby girl. The story goes that she even prolonged her labours of childbirth trying to fit her birth in PrimeTime.
Considering that the theme of this discussion is "giving birth live on TV", i'm waiting for your feed-back on this issue!

I would never do it. It is so private. I don't understand why people are doing it. She put her health and the baby life into high risk just for fame.

True, they're just hunting for fame and mass-media is quite helpful, placing them in headlines for the slightest detail.
And yes, although love has no age the difference between them is suspect, to say the least.

I just check news about online, and get more info about. Monica is very young and great model. She is 30 years younger than her wealthy husband ans she is only 19.

Ok! I think that sucks. The whole idea of watching live a birth is ok for me and many people, especially men should see. But doing it only for promotion? That sucks!

I think, that there are people who would do anything to see themselves in the media. Only media make them famous. AM I right?
There is a gipsy family in my country that famous only because their life in the tv each week. (http://www.online.rtlklub.hu/gyozike/)the papers writes about them... and the people watching them in the tv day by day. Not because they are interesting,or clever, just because this family is a media product.
I do not like these shows.
Giving birth live on tv is good idea, but to make a show from it- it is disgusting.
Giving birth online acceptable for me only as a documentary.

Couldn't agree with you more, with mass-media being so manipulative, producing celebrities, just to have something to sell.
All things translating in terms of money, fame, celebrity, losing our humanity just to have some heads turning as we're walking down the street...

I think that they are pushing the limit.
I don't comprehend why they did they start the Reality Show. All that we can see is Irinel and Monica going shopping and going at presentations of clubs, restaurants and other things like that. They never have a proper discussion on anything.
I think that they started this show just to make Monica famoust and they succeed it, but when a viewer looks at Monica the only thing that he/her can say is: "she is beautyful and so tall comparative with Irinel" and that's it.

I seen that they have a girl and that they want to make a other child by the end of the year.

I am from Romania too and i find the tv show of Monica the biggest stupidity. The girl wanted some publicity and Irinel is buying it from B1 TV. The idea of giving birth live on TV is also a stupidity because i think it is personal thing and you should express your felling about it thing that you can't do in front all that camera. I am thinking that Irinel is like a Big Brother.

It's somehow similar with Gigi Becali buying publicity using OTV.
As for Irinel being like a BB for Monica i would say that he's more like a Big Father.

I extracted one main ideea from your comment, that it shouldn't be done in public.
You're right, i cannot think of any reason for doing so other than an indecent chase for fame.
