Yeah I know what you mean blood clots are painful. Last year in august 2006 through a game of netball, I injured my right leg. Anyway the next day we went to the clinic and got it seen too. I was told I had ruptured my archillies tendon and that the only healing process was to have my right leg in a plaster cast. So the so called nurse wheeled me off to a room where i had my leg plastered, which i thought felt wrong, uncomfortable and tight, feeling like this I told the nurse and she replied with "look dont worry its quiet normal, being my first time in a plaster cast, I thought maybe shes right and tried to relax a litle. The next morning at home, I wake up with terrible pain in that same leg, I call the clinic to inform them of the pain and they advise me to come back A.S.A.P. We get to the clinic and i get seen by another nurse, she then proceeds to take the cast off noticing the colour in my leg had changed from normal too reddy purply, so the nurse and the doctor decide to have my leg scanned and they find 3 blood clots, 1st one being down by my ankle , 2nd between my ankle and my knee and the 3rd one being just below my knee which caused concern. So anyway to stop the clots from traveling any further which could've been life threatening they give me 2 shots of clexane, some kind of anti clotting medicine, check me over and send me home with a presciption for warfarin "rat poison" and inform me that I will be taking this medicine for 6 months or more if my blood count is not reading stable... So thats my input about blood clots. I got blood clots from one nurses stupidity, who thought she knew everything and to this day I have never seen her again... I miss playing netball though... Big time...

In late April 2010 I had a pulmonary embolism. I thought I was having a heart attack when I went to the emergency room. I have to take coumadin for at least 6 months.

Sorry to hear this. My wife had it in 1966 when my first baby was born, yes it was a sad thing for her too, but that was long back..
Thanks .
Welcome always.
Cheers.
