Years ago, I lived in an apartment complex that wasn't in the greatest neighborhood, but it was what I could afford. Anyway, one summer night, I'm peacefully sleeping and I awaken to something that sounds like a gunshot. I'm not sure, thinking no way. Again I hear a shot and I am pretty certain that it was a gunshot, though I've never heard one in real life. I decided to get up and peek out my bedroom window. Just outside my window I saw two policemen walking west of my apartment with their guns drawn, holding the gun with both hands. I'd never seen anything like that before in real life either. I slept on the floor for the rest of the night in case any bullets should come flying my way. I asked some of my neighbors about it the next day, but they hadn't heard anything.

My house is near a bad living place (lucly, they're going to move soon), and there's always shootings during almost all weekends. The lastested i read in the newspaper, was during new years, a 15 yrs old girl was getting out of home to whish happy new year to a neighborhood next door and she got shot in the back, she's going to be parelyzed for the rest of her life and she has a 6 month baby. that's really sad! just because of a stupid celebration from the shooter, he was also celebrating new year... shooting!

Just once. Well I didn't actually hear the gunshots but I heard tons of sirens going by. I later find out that these guys held up a jewellry store at the local mall and when they took off there were cops all over the place. One guy was
sticking out of the sunroof shooting. Hit the cops windshield and hit someone's house. This is unusual for our city so it made big news.

I live in a small community and it is nothing to hear gunshots at night. I have no idea what they are doing. I cant remember the last time anyone got shot by violence around here though. It is a good community

Thankfully, the only gunshots I've heard have been from people in the woods hunting deer. I think I would freak out if it was anything other than that!

Your story bring me back to 6 years ago when I still live in Phily. A lot of gunshot there, sometimes it just kids playing (no kiding) and sometimes bad things happen like murder. First time I heard I just affraid, but after months I just feel nothing about it.

This incident which I experienced and happened 3 yrs ago didnt happened close to our home but to a place where my friends and I usually hang-out. When it happened, the first thing I thought of was to hide. Apparently, during the incident, on my right side was an apartment in which their door was opened. I immediately entered eventhough I dont know the people living there. Fortunately, they are so accommodating, after several minutes I thank the people who let me in. From that day on, my friends would always tease me and say that I have found a new home beacuse of that shooting/gunshot incident.

We hear gunshots all the time, but they mean nothing. We live on the very edge of a tiny rural town. The property across from us always has a bunch of men hanging around. One of their favorite passtimes is to shoot out into the cornfields that surround them. So far they've been harmless, and it's far away from us that we don't worry about it.

Well, my property backs up to hunting lands so I'm always hearing gunshots go off. Drives me nuts when they do it at night - it keeps me up and it gets the coyotes going and that gets the livestock going. I'm always worried one of those idiots will be drinking and mistake what they're shooting at. I stay on the porch during hunting season, just in case.

in hunting season we have a lot of gunshots but hunters are people like you and me and they prefer to do it a resonable times. two times police chaed some criminals in our surrondings this wa enerving, becase you cannot knon where they criminlas are looking for shelter or are willing to take hostages. Anyway in such a case I would keep off from the window.
