Are you a songwriter?

I've been writing songs since I was a little girl. About five years ago, I started playing guitar and I put some of those songs to music. Most of them are based on true stories or feelings. Very few of them simply come from my imagination.
If you write songs, do you base them on true stories? Do you enjoy performing?

Not really a songwriter. I wrote one song before because I am so inspired in the love story of one of my most favorite anime characters, Miaka and Tamahome. I don't know if you know them. I wrote the song entitled, "fantasy".

I've never heard of those characters, but I kinda did the same thing once. I wrote a song about Gordo and Lizzie, inspired by The Lizzie McGuire Movie. *lol*

I'm a songwriter of sorts.
I nearly had a deal with a indie band who wanted to use my lyrics. This is all legit they wasn't ripping me off before people think this and i'm not joking or lieing.
Personally i'm not that good imo. although i write poetry and do alot of other things. I can knock up a decent chorus and verse but i'm not perfect at this far from and it takes work.
