I drink around 8 glasses a day but If Im stuck working it narrows down to only 2. I Love water though I'll drink it over anything, even when I get pizza instead of coke or pepsi I'll order a poland spring.

The 8 glasses thing is an approximation- how much you actually need varies on a few things. However, if you do drink 8 glasses, you're probably getting plenty.
There are some recent revisions to the 8 glass/64 ounces rule (according to some doctors) that you need 64 ounces of water in general, so you can actually also count the water that is in other foods/beverages. For example if you eat watermelon, lettuce, whatever, the water from those counts too. And while they say you can also count beverages other than water, to be safe you should avoid too many diuretic and caffeinated drinks (those which increase your output of urine) such as coffee, tea and soda. Also be wary of drinking too many fruit juices as they are so high in sugar.

Minimum water in take should be equal to amount of urine output plus insensible losses via skin and lungs per day.Insensible losses vary depending on humidity. On average an adult passes 1 liter of urine and losses 500 ml as insensible loss. Also there are various other losses through stool. So its obvious one should consume at least this amount, totaling 1.5 liters per day

You don't need to drink 8 glasses of water a day. You certainly don't need 1/2 your body weight (in oz.) per day. You don't need ANY arbitrary target amount per day. Drink when you're thirsty.

I depends on how busy I am..
If i'm at college i drink around 5 glasses of water a day.
If I'm at home i drink more than 10 glasses..
If I'm tired after playing or going to the gym I'll drink 8-12 glasses of water

A person should drink atleast 1.5 to 2lts of water daily. This keeps our digestive system function smooth and helps to maintain the condition of our skin. It is not necessary that one should feel thirsty and then only water should be take. On and average daily the said quantity is required. It also reduces obiesity to some extent.

ya its true. i've always heard 8 glasses, but you don't always have to chug 8 glasses of water. You can get the water by eating fruit and salads too. I try to drink a bottle of water before i go to bed cuz when i wake up my skin is refreshed
