Watching the clock

I am a very timely person. I get very upset if someone is late or especially when someone makes me late. Is that bad? I feel like I am continuously watching the clock. My husband told me I was a total freak about it because he is never on time. He told me that I need to lighten up! Should I?

There is nothing wrong with being timely, but watching the clock for everything, is not a good thing. It can lead to paranoia or nervousness. Interestingly enough, American society in general has changed the way it perceives time. In the past, it used to be things like, "when the sun sets" or "after it rises." Then it changed to things like "around three" for example, " or a little after two." But now we are to the minute...like if you ask someone the time, they will probably respond, "It is 2:38" Instead of it is almost 2:40. The reason is that now "time is money" and every minute counts. You are just a bit more "hyper" about it. However, if you are a punctual person, and your husband is ALWAYS late, that can get so annoying. There is no reason to not be ontime, at least sometimes. He is probably doing it, because you like to be punctual. Both of you should just give a little, and be a team. Sometimes, though it is good to fight over the little things, that are trivial, once in a while, so that you can let off a little steam. But, don't let it come between you, as a big issue. Me and my hubby have our pet peeves too, and sometimes, they never go away. I guess we just have to accept them, because we love them lol.

I have resorted to telling him appoinments are 30 minutes earlier than they really are just to make sure we get there on time. Pretty bad Huh?
