Realism, Fantasy, Magic, and Romance - Combined

I have been devouring books written by Sharon Shinn! She combines the best of the best such as real characters, characters that have magical abilities, fantasy settings, drama, problem solving and romance.
I finish one book and have to get the next. her writing is so good that you don't want to put the books down - the more you get into the book, the more you don't want to put it down.
The book I'm reading now is titled the "Thirteenth House". It's the second in a series - the first book is "Mystic and Rider".

Yeah, she's great. I once went into a bookstore to pass the time, picked up her book "Archangel" to browse, and couldn't put it down. I ended up buying the book even though it was out of budget. Good choice that I bought it then and there, too, because the mall caught fire a few days later and burned to the ground. I'm looking for her other books but can't find any so far.
"Archangel" is really wonderful. You can almost feel that you're there in the land of Samaria, with its tripartite people (mortal, angel and priest), and listening to the choirs of angels in the angel holds. There's also an interesting premise to the story that reminds me of "Chariots of the Gods". I wish there were more to the story of stubborn Rachel, the Edori slave who became angelica, and her husband the Archangel Gabriel.

I agree with you - you cannot put her books down and once done, you look for more. I read and thoroughly enjoyed every single "Archangel" book in the series!
I go to the local library and have found many of Sharon Shinn Books. You can also look at www.half.com to get her books at bargain prices.
