U might say USA is the biggest software superpower,But the foundation of US software industry is also built on INDIANS....Most people working in the US software industry are now Indians...Once i read a press article in which respected president of USA Mr.George Bush said that "children u need to raise ur level up or else the Indians will take away all ur jobs"....
Even if a program/software is said to have a tag of USA most of the outsourcing work comes down to India itself..Most work is done in India and the product is just assembled in the US
I don't mean to take the credit away from US for that
BUt i feel that India and Indians have become the leaders of the Software Market
What do u feel?? Do u agree with this?? Please give the reasons for ur answer
Thanx for taking out ur time to read this
and for the response

I am an Indian and working in Indias biggest s/w company. What I have observed is that because US companies wanted to save money, they hired Indians to do the job. Indians were much better than any other countries in terms of English communication too. Thus came the offshore movement.
Many Indian companies have not taken the benefit of this. I feel that the Indians should have moved towards Consultancy rather than stick as a s/w developer. Engineers were hired to do this job, even though they were from different fields (not related to computer science).
Now the times are changing, big IT companies like TCS, Infosys have started recruiting Bachelor of Science Graduates too, so that they could have better margins. Those of the senior developers are going to face a challenge here. It is time they shift themselves to Manager position as Consultant rather than continue as developers. Even the more challenge in next couple of years, is that these companies are moving their work to China.
Soon the IT boom is going to fade out in India & they will be called the S/W Leaders. Already 20% of the work is currently done from China in these companies. There is slight communication problem, but this won't be any issue in coming years once they get acquainted to it, just as we did.

My dear friend,
I am an Indian here but I want to contradict on
this topic with you.
I am sure you won't get hurt or mind my words.
We still are facing economic crisis.
Unless we build up this basic need,
we can't think of a super power.
You said we only are working in US software companies as a backbone, but this won't assess you as super power even.
Because when you work for somebody you don't get lion's share in the activity as such.
Till the time you work under some one, you are not "SP"
You are taken as "A manpower".
We can not ignore the fact.
As on today we can very well say that,
India has an abondent intellectual manpower,
which if used by India itself,
""""would go a Super power tomorrow""""!!!!!!!!

Yes ofcourse i agree with what you have said in your statement... India is now becoming a super power in software sectoors because of lots and lots of intelligent and technical engineers are here to improve the information technology sector to a high level within a shorter period of time.. because of that India has been moved to the second position in the software field next to America....

i wont agree with that, because according to me India get all the work by outsourcing say for eg.Microsoft has got a big project Microsoft divides the project into different modules and only the least important works are outsourced to the Indian giants for 100million dollars,so in a way you can say that the core of the project is actually done by Microsoft and the least i meant that very leas important projects are outsourced to the Indian companies, most off these are given to less famed Indian companies and not to the giants like infy and tcs and even hcl.they i meant infy tcs and hcl do there projects that is it will be a completely new topic and whole program will be done by indian companies so some are very good and some are really bad.
so in general our engineers haven't seen the original software developing areas that can be seen in us and in other countries.I hope its pretty clear.

Yes I agree to the fact that most of the Software markets in the world are equipped with the Great Indians. Recently I came across an article which says that about 80% of the software people in the United States are Indians and think if all those Indians are placed in our own Mother country!!! Wat would be the situation of the Universal Leader Unites States. We should not just imagine that but make true all those dreams by our Indian Presiden APJ Abdul Kalam,

I have heard that indinas are one of the best programers in the world. I have heard that they are all over the world working in the top. The software market is one that is growing really fast all over the world and i think there are and there will be places to work in this business. The indians have the proiority because they are the best on it!

True said , India indeed is becoming a Software Superpower next to U.S. But the U.S software sector is in such a good shape because of indians. that being the sad part. If some how the brain drain is stopped no one in the world can stop india from being superpower in software. the current rate at which India is progressing is truly admirable and it just require more funds as it has sufficient brains for making it a SUPERPOWER.

i agree with u but its not just because indians are in USA or most of the companys are outsourced to india but because india has the talent..it has the worlds best brains working hard..
indians are also spread accross the world in all the continents and almost all the countries in the world....
one of the major factors that contributes to the growth of indian economy and emerging as a super power is that india produces the most no of engineers than other countries in future...

They have made a big impact, and one of the main reasons is the salaries...Indians will work for a much lower wage then any other, since the cost of living is lower there i guess it equals out...
when i use rent a coder to find a programmer to work on one of my sites or develop something for me, i mostly go with the bids from India since there pennies on the dollar compared to others around the world.

i surely agrre with u my friend that india is the biggst software suprpower.it is so coz the indians are the most hardworking lot amongst any other youth round the globe and also coz india has the highest young population the avg. age of india is 26-27 while on the other side its 45-50 for the americans. so more the young lot more the intelligence more the dedication and more the hardwork resulting into the best of softwares.
and the other thing bout ur response is also true tht even if a softwar has a tag of us the effort is all bout the indians and the only problem rite now with indians is their economy and once it strts raisin as it has already started india will have "tag" off the biggest superpower too!!

Remove the Chinese and Indian engineers from the American societies, undo the "brain drain" tendancy and America is pretty much done for. Most of its societies depend solely on foreign material. Come on, we all know that most Americans aren't that bright! :D
