Now-a-days Anime and cartoons are becoming popular? Isn't it.

I agree.. Anime has almost conquered every country in the world. =) It has this unique something in it that separates it from other TV genres. =) Even people who doesn't understand the anime language watches them (with the help of subs).

Cartoons have always been popular for adults and children. Look at Walt Disney and Hannah Babera. Anime I think became hugely popular with Pokemon. My kids were already into trading cards and anime before Pokemon became so huge. I have read a lot lately about the increased popularity of Cosplay. But not everybody in the states is dressing up as their favorite anime characters. Some like dressing up like super heroes or sci fi characters.

i think all of us are children at heart and the fact that some of the anime is geared towards adults is great for having complicated storylines. its easier to have a fantasy plot with an animation then real life.

i think that everyone love animes or cartoons or both. And now they both are more well made and because of it the became more popular.

I think that anime has become very popular, in the last few years. I no it has started in the 90's but there are more action packed anime's with really good plots. Especially with the new anime BLEACH.

no doubt.. even adults can really relate to every story an anime has.. and that's why its popular not only to kids..^^

umh.. I think anime p[opularity already start in 90 ^^ I think it is because the story. not always abot super heroes. BUt also love, mystery, horor and many genre. So.. if U dont like horor, u can enjoy humor and etc. Beside, the story some times is deep but some times light, so ppl can choose what they want ^^

I think the big breakthrough's were probably Pokemon and Akira in the UK. They were made available to us on tv and at video stores and more and more people started to become interested. I think we've got a bit of a way to go. The US sounds like it's way ahead of us, but we'll get there. I doubt it'll ever be quite what it is in Japan though! Studio Ghibli is getting known through Monoke Hime and Spirited Away. And tv has Yuugi-Oh (sp?) now. Digital and Sky and all that have much more on the cartoon networks, but not everybody gets those, sadly.

yes indeed.. these characters can do things that a normal person cannot do.. so they are popular among grown ups and kids..

yea it has defintly grown. now that one person likes it they spread it to his/her frend and they spread and so on

I think it's more young adults over anyone else. I guess that age range likes the whole imabeatyour@$$down factor involved in anime.
