What would be the feeling if like the movie Little Bride you will only knew one day that you are being set up to marry a man who is very much older than you?

i haven't gotten the chance to watch that movie. quite interesting.
anyway, i don't have anything against people marrying someone older than them. i have friends who got married with men who are more than 20 years older than them but i can say, they are happily married.
but with the situation of being "set up", is different. if there's no love at all, it's not worth getting married. but if there's love between two people, there's no question about it.

That's a very difficult situation ma. To be married to a man you haven't known and loved would the most hardest situation I may face. How can you accept a person you don't love? Age would not matter if you love that person but in this case, I am not yet in love to him. Do I have any other option? But some of arranged marriage, sometimes the couples will soon develop love for each other. But seldom it happens. I don't think I can accept it, especially if I already loved someone else.

That's a very tough situation. I think that I would do everything I need to do in order to stop the stupid arrangement. I think I'd rather die than live an undesired life.

marrying someone because it's just arranged for you and that you weren't able to choose to marry the man you really love is going to be a misery you're going to bring for the rest of your life. true. i'd rather die than marry that person i don't love at all.

well, i don't think fixed marriage is applicable in this generation...well, young people nowadays know their rights and one of these rights is the right to marry whomever they want to marry and not the man chosen by their parents..though fixed marriage exists in some parts of the world (rural places usually)..

I've seen that movie... that was really nice.... Both need to adjust since they have what we called age gap... but me if i'm situated to that kind of arrangement, it would be very hard for me when it comes to adjusting because imagine! 20 years older than you... i think it would be really hard...
