No one knows now, especially since Shilpa herself has backed out from her appeal. It could just be a publicity stunt. But the videos show that there happened something that is nothing racist.

I dont think she backed out. she actually dint know what was happening outside and all that we saw was jude apologising to shilpa..

Yes, definitely racism.. I guess its just not that.. there were other incidents.. else why would police enter big brothers house to investigate and jude been thrown out by the public?

I don't think it had anything to do with racism. It was bullying arising from jealousy. Actually I think the attitude of people who are making the accusations of racism is not only patronising but also damaging to "race relations" in general. As my neighbour said the other day - "so now if you dislike an Asian person or have an argument with them it must be because you're a racist?" Now, admittedly he is a fairly unpleasant person himself - well he supports the BNP so what more can you say - but I do think he has a point on this one.

I think minority groups are over sensitive sometimes, the things that some of the housemates call each other gets accepted but why is it that when it is a member of a minority group it is automatically branded racism.....

It could be that in history also that has been happening that the minority has always undergone this situation.

ive ben watching this programme quite the way through, but i wouldn't say jade was racist, she said shilpa poppadom because she didn't know her surname and could only think of poppadom as something to do with india, shilpa at first said to cleo, are they like this because of my culture etc etc but then in the diary room, shilpa said to big brother, that she don't think jade meant it in a racial way. i think now that jade got evicted last night, all the housemates will get on perfectly because they was until jade and her family came into the house.

this ridiculous marketing excersise by Chanel 4 in the U.K and endemal, the makers of big brother is of no consequence to the real world. It can only be racist is Shilpa defines it as such, which I dont think she did. Also, what a great way of increasing Shilpa's profile. Before she was on Big Brother no one outside of Bollywood had heard of her, now she is known throughout the world. Prior to these events, it was debateable if chanel 4 would commision another series of big brother, you can guarantee they will now. So in short, it isnt racist and has fooled millions, lifted the profile of two c list stars and made a lot of money for everyone concerned
