Broken deep Fryers

With in the last 2-3 years i have gone through 2 deep fryers. i dont know whats going on. just the other day i claimed my 2nd fryer. hehe. i would stop using them but they are so handy! and easy to use. i would not wanna live without it. i'm just wondering if there is anyone out there that could give me a few pointers on how not to break a deep fryer...hahaha i know it sounds lame.
