poverty has been a problem for most of the contries and by the thos who are included in the third world category. I have some questions to know about your opinion on this problem, answering these will be greatly appriciated.
What is your definition of poverty?
With the given definition of yours, do you think your country is experiencing poverty (please indicate your country)?
If so, what are the current issues in your country related to this to make you say that your country does experince poverty?
What do you think are the factors why your country is experiencing this condition? Who do you think are the people resopnsible for this and what could they have done to prevent or at least lessen it?
In your opinion, is there still a way for your country to solve this problem?
What solution do you suggest?
If this solution of yours succeeds, what are the countries that could possibly use this strategy?
Why do you think these countries are in need of this solution?

poverty means its a term used when families cant be able to sustain their daily needs for foods , clothing and shelter..or when family income cant sustain their basic needs...well our countrymen are sufferring from poverty(phil). one causes of poverty is population....as the no. of born children increases..the higher is the unemployment rate...our govt. ae trying very hard to solve this problem but due to lack of funds we cant reach families in the remote barangays for the dessimination of family planning. and besides our country still a developing one and needs help for the outside...in terms of financial...

Poverty is a financial hardship (hardship in terms that there's nothing to offer for themselves and lacks basic needs) that hinders one's well-being.
I am from Philippines and I think we are experiencing poverty. As for me and my family, not much of poverty because we can still cope and we can still afford more than the necessities in this life.
But then again, my fellow filipinos, some of them are in the poverty level. I can attest to that because I can see a lot of hardships in them. Poverty = lack of basic needs + low literacy (because they lack education) + high crime rate + hunger etc.
I think the factors are ourselves. I mean, they didn't even try to help themselves and we, who are more fortunates can't do anything about it. I can help, but my help is just small things. I am hoping that others help too, in small ways. If we put them all together, we can make BIG HELP.
Again, we are all responsible for this sort of poverty. We must help each other. One step at a time.
Yes, I think so. There's still a way. As Sandra Bullock put it, "As long as the people change, the world can change."
Solution? care for one another, stop corruption and be more discipline.
All countries can use this simple solution of mine.
I think all countries are in need of this solution because I think, no matter how progressive a country is or poor it may seem, it can still do improve. I hope.
:) I hope I answered all your questions. :)

poverty is when one person cannot meet the basic requirement a person should have in order to live. sample are food, house, education and job. as you can see, all of these are in the cycle of 'Money' itself. Once you dont have money or enough money, then you can say that you are poor.

poverty accordinf to me is when a person cannot get basic amenities like food, shelter etc.my country is definitely facing the problem of poverty.nearly 30%of the population is below the poverty line.the main factor responsible for poverty is corruption.rich are becoming richer and poor are getting poorer.there is corruption from bottom to top in my country and people responsible are some politicians, and almost everyone in every feild because they all get bribed.the only way to stop this problem is that severe punishment should be given to those who corrupt people and get corrupted.there must be cameras in every government office.

Poverty in this sense means lack of money and material things needed not only for survival but for a better way of living. I am a Filipino living here in the Philippines. We are one in the third world countries and graft and corruption is rampant here. To solve or minimize poverty, we should have good leadership.

There is nothing like the word poverty.
This is a state of mind.
Having excess money means rich & less money means poor?
No It can not be like this.
If you are satisfied with the welth you have is richness and If you are in still want mood is poverty.
It is not the country makes the citizens.
The citizens make the country.
If every citizen is happy with whatever belongings that country is happy.
If every citizen works for his family and earns few bucks for the sake of his survival & satisfaction imagin the country is making enough for itself.

Yes, i think poverty is a serious problem in a country. In my opinion, poverty could be eradicated by a country if the government of the country sets up policies and laws that secure the equal rights of every citizens to have equal chances for everything necessary to get out of the loop or cycle of poverty such as equal rights to a complete and good education, equal chances to participate in businesses, as well as equal opportunities to be part of the politics. There are numerous other ways. Cheers ^_^

poverty is the main problem for most of the third world's countries. They are fighting against poverty. I think political unstability, system, corruption is the main key factor for poverty.

I believe poverty to be a state of mind and is very relative term. We find countries like Israel and Japan which are really not that rich in their resources to be one of the richest countries around and there are countries like India which are so rich in resources but yet inhabited by poor! Why so? If we can change the equations apply our resources to our richest potential and work hard and unitedly, we do have the strength to come out of poverty.

I live in India which has lots of poor people in it and yes poverty is a main issue in our country but our country in one of the most developing country in the world with nuclear capabilities therefore India is not included in the the third world category but the situation of poverty is a little critical because farmers are committing sucide due to poverty and corruption is on the rise which is making rich more richer and making poor more poor.

Poverty is where the people have very limited access to daily needs (ffod, housing, etc), health, educations, and all the basic standards of living. The cause can be very variety, corruptions, beaurocracy, system, mind frames of the people. And the cause can -also- came from the deep root of the culture.
I come from Indonesia, where the poverty also exists in some part of the country. To answer all your questions here, it´s not possible for me, as i mentioned in other similar topic, that poverty is very complicated concept.
And the way i see it, poverty in my country is going to get worst, since ?Intellectual Exercise? seems like become somekind a trend, among those scholars, politicians, public figures, etc.

Poverty has a new defenition - no lights, no food, no money, no work. People in the neighborhood - take a long walk to get to the market. No soap to wash the clothes, no soap to take a bath. The children makes a lot of noise grabing for a piece of bread. Their clothes are worn out. It is a hopeless situation. a family has 7,or 9 children. And the father earn only 120 pesos a day. All you can shout is HELP, but the rich seems unconcern. Political issues on graft and corruption has something to do. But the cold heart of those who can help but would not makes things worst. Job opportunity is very little. Even retired professional suffer poverty.
