How do you make your face clean?

I had a problem on my face. At first there are some acne pimples throughout my face. I try to clean it by using face foams, creams, etc. After using them for a few months the pimple starts to dry. But there's still a 'red-spot' on my face, so that it seems like the acne had not been removed completely.. How do you clean this 'red-spot'? Thanks.
