Summer job in Scotland (U.K.) for 18 year old

Can anyone help please? I would like to spend the summer months (June to beg September) working in Scotland and am finding this very hard to do. I have written to many youth hostels to check for vacancies but the ones who have replied say they have already recruited for summer 2007. I dont mind what the work is, as i do not have much work experience apart from helping a friend out in his shop occasionally. It could be in a hostel/guest house/bar or even on a farm doing odd jobs. It would help if accommodation is also offered (thats why i have tried hostels) Any suggestions please. Thks Ben
