Making money online with a profitable niche

I've been looking ways to start an internet business. There's lots of magical get-rich-quick-packages, but I've been able to stay away from them. But when I have visited those sites, I've almost always signed for the mailing list. That way I have received a free course of eBook. So, after digesting at least twenty of them, I have come up with following instruc tions. The key is to sell :) That's the way to get rich. If you only get paid for your working hours (even $500 / h), you don't earn any money if you're not working. But if you have e.g a web site selling something people are interested in, it will keep selling while your asleep or watching TV. So, the first step is to find a niche (people who are interested in some specific thing). And where would to start to look for a _profitable_ niche? Make a guess... The answer is search engines. That's the place where people go to find specific information. Now we want to find out what other people are looking for. We can download a free keyword tool from goodkeywords.com or use Google's Keyword Tool (https://adwords.google.com/select/KeywordToolExternal). Type a word that interests you, e.g. 'playstation'. With Google's keyword tool you get bunch of other searches including the word playstation (e.g. cheat codes for playstation, playstation 2 accessories). Because we want to find a niche, not a general interest like playstation, let's make another search for the words 'playstation accessories'. Now we get 'playstation memory card' and we see that the search volume is quite good. The rule of thumb is that if there's at least 10,000 searches / month for a keyword, it's worth trying. Google doesn't provide the search amounts, but you can check them with GoodKeywords or by going to inventory.overture.com. So now you're find your niche, 'playstation memory card', and you can start a site promoting these products. And you don't have to have a storage of memory cards in your garage. Instead use Google and search for an affiliate program that has playstation memory cards in their inventory. This was a plain example, but should get you on the way. Comments are welcome!!!
