What made him so popular?

I normally don't get into political discussions with many people, because it's such a touchy subject (I'm guessing, by the way people get so heated). But I figure this is probably a good place to start out. So I'm wondering about our current president. I did not vote for him (either term), and I'm wondering what made him such a "popular" choice. So I'm sending a question out to all of you who did vote for him (not to start a war on here, just to get another viewpoint). What made people think he would be such a good President? And after it came out that he'd messed up (big time), what made people so keen to elect him again? Does anyone regret any voting decisions they've made? Does anyone think he's a good president? Let me hear your thoughts!

Yes I agree he screw up a lot of things. 3 things made me vote for him the 2nd time, 1 thing the first. The BIG thing that made me vote for him the first time was Al Gore, enough said. The 2nd time was the fact that he cut taxes for everybody that pays taxes. This has increased the revinue to the gov. and spond the best econome in decades. Weather you beleive in the war or not ( I do ), he was the only on who was willing to take the fight to the terroist. Yes he could have done it better, but it still needs to fough, and last reason, John Carry.

I actually thought Al Gore made much more sense than Bush. I don't care that he was linked to Clinton, if that's what you mean. And yes, he cut taxes, but this is definitely not the "best economy we've seen in decades" my friend. There are a lot of things that factor into the economy, not just the # of jobs created. If anyone recalls, we had a surplus before this man got into office. Now we are billions upon billions of dollars in debt to China and Japan of all places. Not to mention, the jobs that have been created, while they are plentiful, aren't necessarily good paying ones. I know tons of people with degrees and experience who can't even get jobs in their fields. People with BA's and MA's and working on their Doctorates are still working for $10 at retail stores. Pah, best economy.... And no, I don't believe in this war. We were mislead from the beginning, several times in fact, as to the reason for this war, and he chose to invade a country who was not an immediate threat to our nation. Now, because of us, the regular, citizens of Iraq are suffering brutality in masses, the likes of which they'd never seen until we got involved. We cannot solve the problems of every other country in this world. Heck, we have problems of our own, and terrorists right here in this nation, but you don't see anyone worrying about that do you, probably because our chief wouldn't have gotten Sadam as he wanted...

I also didn't vote for him either time. I hate the two party system - WHAT A JOKE, its soooo anti productive! I think a lot people thought he would be a good President just because his Dad was President. Not to mention the amount of money he probably had for campaigning. Now he just put all his buddies in high places and has all the hookups from large corporations. Anyone in his future genealogy is set for life! I'd say he is a bad President, but he sure was smart about it . . . made millions for his friends and family.
