In India the broadband rates are as high as Rs1000 for unlimited 256kbps connection(thats 23$ per month according to direct conversion rates). What are the rates in your country. I have always found this a tremendous disappointment as the overpriced internet access harms net lovers like me.......

Yes it costs $23 to 24$ per month and it is almost in par with western countries. For Indian standard of living and earning this amount is higher side and may be in couple of months this rate may come down.

Yeah by cost of living standards this is high. Sure enough in India Rs1000 is much more valuable than 20$ in west. And from what i have heard in england 2mbps unlimited connection is available for 12pounds. Sure hope we get there soon

Yeah the rates are high but what i will suggest is to go for BSNL 500 bucks plan (as the best option now) It gives solid speeds for night downloading but you have to limit urself to surfing during daytime(2.5g limit)
