Intel or AMD?

Hey Everyone, I am looking to build another computer soon, and I was wondering, should I go with the intel Core 2 Duo or the Amd 64 X2. I have heard better reviews for the intel chip, but I was wondering what your opinions were. Also, Ive been with AMD for a while, and I am wondering if I should switch. The specific proccesors I am deciding between is the AMD Athlon 64 X2: 4600+ And the Intel Core 2 Duo e6300, they are both a little under $200. Any opinions would be much appreciated! Thanks

My vote goes to AMD hands down. But I might be biased against Intel. I used to hate IBM and Intel because in my opinion they ruined the PC market in the early eighties. But my opinion of IBM has improved of late. I never put a machine together based on the Intel CPU.

Sorry it has been so long since I checked this post. Not sure what to add except that it depends on how much you are willing to spend. I bought an AMD CPU recently. I would have liked to have bought a dual core but I got a cheap Opteron instead. Then you got all those FX processors. They are suppose to be really good I have read. Wish I could afford to put together a lot more systems.

i prefer you look at www.tomshardware.com, there are have manny guide and benchmark for who want to buy a system..

AMD anytime mate . It rocks .Don't even contemplate on this AMD anytime and any given moment is better.

i prefer AMD since i am using one.I use AMD because --comparatively cheap --high performance --high stabilty --greater support for gaming i recommned AMD FX 64 bit computing.It has many advantage over intel pentium 4 processors.but i heard that intel pentium duo core2 is much better than other precedures and a like performance with AMD 64.so i f you are going to buy a new computer either you go for AMD FX 64 or Pentium 4 Duo core 2. thank you!
