Is it true that everybody is a hypocrite?

As cliche as it sounds, everybody is a hypocrite. Have you ever given advice to somebody to correct their habits only to find out that you have the same habits? What is it about human nature that allows us to so easily correct somebody else but fail to notice the faults that we have ourselves? I am just trying to find out if it's me or if this is a common experience.
