The movie 'Blades of Glory' comes out March 30th and stars Will Ferrell and Jon Heder. Anyway I think the movie looks great but I have been hearing negitive talk about it and I was wondering what other people thought.
You can view the trailer at youtube here if you haven't seen it yet http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V9ec2zry7AM&eurl=

It won't tank, and it didn't tank. I saw it, and it was hilarious. It's been doing nothing but making money since it came out here, and it was number 1 yet again this past week. I usually don't really like cookie cutter "underdog stories", but this movie was awesome. Anyone who hasn't or doesn't plan to see this movie, is someone I don't wanna know.

My thoughts and review of the film.
BLADES OF GLORY is the ice skating comedy. starring Will Ferrell and Jon Heder. Will Arnett, Amy Poehler, and Craig T. Nelson also round out the cast along with cameos by other notable names. The story, as directed by Josh Gordon and Will Speck, is about two rival figure skaters who get banned from the sport for fighting each other, only to find a loophole that allows them back in if they skate as a couple.
BLADES OF GLORY is the first screenplay by writers Jeff and Craig Cox and I can only guess that there was a lot of laugher during the creative process. Scene by scene this film is set with hilarious visions.
The opening sequence into the film had me laughing my head off, but then like many of these newer comedies do the pace got a bit stale. The acting voices of both of the stars is a bit dry and I was afraid this film would go the way of THE WEDDING CRASHERS or TALLADAGA NIGHTS and bore me. However, you cannot compare this film to either of those because the hilarity picked right back up from where it stopped and I was chuckling all the way to the ending.
All of the actors are comedy veterans and it is apparent in their on-set chemistry. Even the villains as played by Arnett and Poehler are a wonderful duo. I see early critics jumping out and comparing this to the pre-mentioned TALLADAGA NIGHTS and even ANCHORMAN, however this film is not based in as random of comedy as those two films; though for sure off-beat. This film has comedy that is less interchangeable and more creative than some of Ferrell’s previous work. Ferrell and Heder both have a tendency to use the same character voice from film to film, but that fact is eventually lost in BLADES OF GLORY due to all the funny chorography and sparkly clothing.
At the time of this article BLADES OF GLORY is showing in theatres. I fully suggest seeing it there because with the big screen and loud speakers you’ll get more enjoyment out of it. This is one of those movies that has the potential to make you want to cry laughing the first time, but then after repeated viewing sigh with the want for something new. ( and the ending is a bit too weird) Kudos to the writers and everyone involved with the project though, it brought laughter and entertainment to my evening.
