It depends on what type of book you like. I love anything by Martina Cole, Lesley Pearce, all the Harry Potter Books and most True Life stories. At the moment I am reading P.S. I Love You (can't remember the authors name)and I'm loving it and in parts it has made me laugh out loud. Another good book is Memoirs of a Geisha.

to kill a mocking bird is also a required reading in high school literature. :) but yeah i'd have to agree it's a very good story. you might also want to check on amy tan's the joy luck club, the kitchen god's wife, hundred secret senses, because these are just some of the few books that i have a hard time putting down and also ones left an impression to me,

Well, what kind of books do you enjoy? Do you have a favorite genre? Or do you just like to read whatever? :) I really like fantasy books, so I would recommend books like Eragon by Christopher Paolini (one of my most favorite books!), Inkheart by Cornelia Funke (geared towards younger audiences but I really loved it), Chronicles of Narnia by C.S. Lewis, or the Lord of the Rings series by Tolkien. Those are just some of my favorites! I don't know what kind of books you like, but hopefully I helped! :)

Go to http://www.princesssultanascircle.com and read the Princess Trilogy by Jean P. Sasson, about Princess Sultana of Saudi Arabia, and her struggle for women's rights. Another good one is Mayada, by Jean P. Sasson about a woman in Iraq.

Everyone has different taste in reading materials. I have loved to read ever since I could.
My favorite is anything by John Grishom.
They deal mainly with courtroom drama and lawyers. If you like him, you will also enjoy Susan Isaac.
For a change of pace, I love Stephen King.
Go to your local library and just look around. If you see something that sparks your interest, sit down and read a couple of chapters. You can check out many books at one time, so take a variety and soon you will know what authors to look for.

I liked The Moor's Last Sigh by Salman Rushdie very much. He's a great storyteller and takes you to an entirely different culture.
I can also recommend The Snowleopard by Peter Matthiessen.
Maybe you should choose a book with a subject you have never read before.
You'd best go to your local library and start browsing if possible. In my library at home they put up displays with new books or books around a certain theme. Choose something from that if they do that in your library. or let your librarian suggest a book.
Have fun reading.

I love any books by Suzanne Forster, especially Girls Club. It's based around a finishing school murder case which was never solved. The four girls who are suspected the most have all gone on to be the top people in their chosen professions and the scandel could kill their careers. I completely didn't suspect the person who was the murderer to be that person. But anyway, I really loved the book if you're into that kind of genre. If not, Great Expectations, also a great novel.

You're really going to have to help out with what kind of stories you like. How about the Harry Potter series. They're very popular and adventurous. Do you like Stephen King horror books? How about fantasy? Try Piers Anthony's Xanth series. Maybe you would like the Danielle Steele romance stuff?

I recomend you read anything by Sara Douglass. The Axis Trilogy (and subsequently the wayfarer redemtion) are still my favourite books. Robin Hobb has some good books as well. Also Russell Kirk-Patrick (spelling may be wrong there). All of these are fiction fantasy though, so if thats not your thing then I wouldnt read it.
Other then Fantasy I must Recomend Bag Of Bones by Stephen King, very talented authour from what I have read (thats the only one lol).
I was also recomended to grab a book called "A Child Called It" from my former partner. It is a biography and it deals with depression and a whole plethera of serious issues that face todays society. Dont read that one if your easily upset.

Have you read Pride and Prejudice novel? Try that book and you're gonna love it. All women in the world would probably know Mr Darcy. ;) It's a romance story, btw.

What kind of subjects interest you? Mystery (crime solving, love mysteries), Love stories, Religion, etc? I love a little of everything. Some of my favorites include Sam's Letters to Jennifer and Suzanne's Diary for Nicholas (James Patterson) for a sweet story. He also writes exciting mystery novels that include the Judge & Jury (very good, just finished it). I also greatly enjoyed both the Da Vinci Code and the less known but just as great Angels & Demons (Dan Brown). I would also suggest that you consider signing up for www.booksfree.com. It's like blockbuster or netflix for books! If you really enjoy reading books, but don't want to buy them (I don't read books twice very often) then this is great!! It's affordable as well, and easy!
