We named our cat Rain. We adopted her in October when it was really cold and rainy outside and she hid first under our car and then on our porch. She likes to be called our rainy day kitty, but gets a bit confused when we say it is raining outside :)

I think you have to have 500 posts, before you can post a picture.

How do you post the picture to your response? I was trying and ended up giving up.

We named our pets after the giver, sometimes we named them on how we acquired them.
For example: If a certain cat goes in into our house accidentally and stays with us, we named her.. "dating" pronounced as "dA" "ting" which means "just came in", does it make sense?

I actually have a cat named Kali. My best friend and I were living together, and we decided to get cats. So, we found this brother-sister pair that we loved, and named her Kali, and him Shiva. At the time, we were doing research into gods and goddesses, and she came across a Hindu goddess named Kali, who was the goddess of war, and protector of women. Her co-hort, and lover, and best friend, was a male demi-god named Shiva. I thought they were very interesting, empowering names, and so we used them. And as Kali has gotten older, she has in some ways lived up to her name. She is very independant, but still very loving, and amazingly strong-willed. She has also been my savior when I've gone thru rough times, sometimes being the only thing left in my life that I knew loved me. She is almost 7 now, (her birthday is on Valentines Day), and I don't know what I would do without her.

We named out kitten Rain, becuase she adopted us on a very cold, rainy day in October. She was hiding uder my carand then trying to dodge the rain when we first saw her. The next day, she hid on my porch wrapped in a towel I ahd been using to clean the grill. The name just seemed to fit, but it does confuse our poor "rainy day kityy" when someone says it looks like rain. She tries to figure out why they're tlaking about her:)

You have a cute kitty. I've got two cats. Moses & Leo. Leo is the older one. He got his name from Leo on Charmed. I went to the pound to get a grey or black girl cat to name Piper - my fav character on Charmed. Well Leo ended up choosing us instead. He's grey though. Since I couldn't name him Piper (I know it's a either or name but to be it's a girls name) I named him Leo instead. Moses got his name because my husband and I couldn't agree on anything else. I wanted to name him Cedric. He wanted Links (or something like that).

I have two cats. Binky and Sam are their names. When we got Binky he was a kitten and we named him Binky because we had a cat named Inky and we wanted it to rhyme. When we got Sam he was about a year old and was already named so we just kept his name.

My cats name is Skitz as in Schizophrenic!! He's a total spazz. He's actually sitting here batting at the cursor as I speak. But he's just very random in his behavior and it's very cute sometimes (and sometimes not lol)

I have 2 Kittens. Sarah the oldest, will be 1 on St. Patricks Day. My five year old daughter named her. The youngest, Bailey was born October 4th. We named her Bailey just because we couldn't think of anything else. The name fits her perfectly now.

We got a kitten about six months ago that we were told was a girl, so she started life out as cleo, then when we took her to the vets for her jabs etc the vet told us she was a he! Unfortunately 'she' had already started responding to cleo so we had to change it to a similar sounding name......we ended up with clive! It suits him really well.

I don't have a cat anymore but I used to have one from the day I was born up until I was about 10. When I was about 3 or 4 I decided to name him kitty. I don't know why; I was just a little girl and I guess Kitty seemed like a logical name. Even though he was no longer a kitty; he was a cat. I also wanted to call him Chester. Lol I have no idea where that name came from; it just came into my imagination.

I have two cats. One is named Almond. She's all different shades of brown, and is my little Almond. She's too cute. The other cat is named Red. He's an orange cat, and my fiance named him. It just sort of happened and felt right.

Hi there...Romeo's name was inspired by my car an Alfa Romeo spider which fits him well since he's sporty, fast, and fun!
Kieran's name was already given before I adopted him from a no-kill shelter. His name means the "dark one/mysterious".

I have three cats at the moment. Jasper is a ginger cat, he is 6 years old. He had his name when I was given him but I believe he was named after Jasper Carrott. We call him the Big Fat Ginger Lump as he is very large and doesn't move much.
Febi and Widjit are our two kittens. They were born on 31st May last year. Febi is named after one of the horses in the BBC's "Only Fools on Horses" and Widjit was chosen by my partner who is a computer engineer but I spell it like that after a horse I had called Fidji.
