I only eat jerky when i am camping. Since it is somewhat dehydrated, it's easy to take hiking. BUt usually it's too salty for me. I do have several friends that hunt, and make jerky out of some of the tougher cuts of meat.
I don't think it does anything to help asthma, arthitis or diabetes. It's usually high in salt, so it's not good for those with heart disease.

Thanks,
I wonder why its only mainly in America that it is available.
It seems like a good dried food to take, as you do for camping etc.
I will have to see if I can get some delivered to England, so that I can try it.

I Love Beef Jerky. I've loved it since I was a little girl. There is one I will never try again and that was "TUNA Jerky! yuccccky disgusting stuff. That one I can live without. I have made it too with a Ronco Food Dehydrator. That was fun, very time comnsuming and the ants found it before it was done and ruined the whole batch !
But yes I love it and I buy it often. NOt good if your on a low sodium diet.

Hiya Matigal,
I only came indoors to get some fruit, & had a quick look at my emails, so answered a response on Jerky, Of course, I stayed a bit longer, & looked up other topic on Jerky.
The more I read about it, the more I am interested in trying it.
I was just signing off, & got your response. Thank you.
Now what about Beef plus Ant flavoured Jerky, that would be unique.!!
How is your weight loss programme going. Mind you, I dont think you need to lose weight.

Mmm, Good idea.
Perhaps I had better get some to sell to our English 3 day Eventers in the summer.
It might be a great seller.
I have never tried it, does it taste good & does it stop you from getting hungry while out hunting & anything else outdoors when there is no other food available?
Thanks.
