Do you think it is really important to do that nowadays? Sometimes I can multi task since I am a mother and taking care of my child. But it seems that doing those things are really tiring. How about you can you multi task, please share your experiences here.

I try not to focus what I am doing. But I think wouldn't it be nice if you can do things at the same time? I like to do that. But mostly in school, I need really to focus what I am studying I don't even want to listen to a music while studying because that distracts my concentration.

Things wouldn't enter your mind once you are listening to music and studying at the same time. Try listening to music first to relax your mind before studying :)

that's a good advice alice.. music, especially the mellow ones, helps to relax the mind. i remember then when i was still studying, i watched tv at the same time. Studying sets in during commercials..lol! Anyways, good shows usually have long commercials breaks.

Yeah! most of the time i do multi-tasking.. most of the time when im using my pc..just like now, im typing my response while loading my email and news on other tabs..lol!..but i know it's not what u really meant to ask. Actually, doing several things in the same span of time had been a habit for me. Since, i am living alone now i do almost all the chores (of course no one is there to help me..). During my day off from work, I do the cleaning of my apartment while the washing machine & dryer are running, cooking or just heating my food sometimes may set in during those times and not to mention listening to music or watching tv too. It's just a matter of learning how to focus to several things at the same time...and i think it's a good work out for the brain/memory and can save a lot of time. But of course it could be stressful if one is not really in the mood to do anything. However, when i am at workplace and doing a sensitive job, i clearly focus on it to avoid any mistake.

Hi,
I do agree that if one can multi task in this modern society, it will be very useful. It is indeed very tiring to multi-task but I find that in this way, I have used my time very efficiently. I am working as a laboratory biologist in daytime and during nighttime, I will sit in front of the computer to earn extra cash using the internet. If you are interested in adding more task to your life, you may wish to visit my blog, http://money-skills.blogspot.com, to learn of ways to earn extra cash.

Multi tasking, yes i am experiencing this everyday of my life. But really when i was still in the Philippines i was working in an office where im really doing multi tasking thing cos my boss keeps on letting me do things which is not in my line of duty but because im still capable of doing it so she keeps on adding it to me. Now being married still exercising multi tasking, doing the house hold chores(especially doing things in the kitchen) at the same time chatting or posting here in mylot. Its not bad really doing his cos you get to do a lot of things all at the same time in this busy life.

Yes, I multi-task and it is very hard work. Especially when you're a working mother and going to school part-time. I give my kids chores to do and everyone helps out around the house, so I don't feel bombarded at home. I usually have a routine early morning Saturdays where I mop the kitchen and parlor room, vacuum, start some laundry. I then take a little cat nap int the middle of the afternoon, finish up laundry, have the kids clean and vacuum their room......then, I have the rest of the evening and Sunday for myself. I think if you just organize your time and schedule what you plan to do, it makes life easier.....sometimes I can't always take a nap, but at least I can sleep in on Sundays!!

As my husband who I am! and I'm sure he would tell you, I always do multi-tasking. Even online, when he is at work and I am online, I am multi tasking to while chatting with him, I type fast and he types slow, so while he is typing, I do other things like posting my response to you, cooking why? because our computer is on our dining table 2 steps away to the kitchen believe it or not! hahahah lol. I love multi-tasking saves my time. My husband can't do that...doing many things all at once. hahaha.

Yes, multitacking is important even if it's tiresome. You get a lot of things done in just a short time. This usually applies most to working moms. I saw how my mom works at home, cooking, cleaning, washing clothes all at the same time. There are just so much things yet to be done, that's what she would say. And she would always teach me that I should know to multitask so that I can do many things done.

At my workplace - multi tasking is a skill one MUST have. i'm the one who ensures the new joinees develop this asap as i'm a supervisor. so i, have to multi task - i'm comfortable doing that - it does get frustrating at times, but i can live with it :) but i knw some ppl just can't handle it. esp at first, it can be so very tough.

I have lots of multi tasking experience. I use to work for McDonald's and you know how many tasks you need to do at a time there, I'm sure you have an idea. Now where I work, I have answer phones, places orders and welcome incoming clients all at the time.

Yeah those customer service works are really tiring. I would like to esperience a job like that when I was in college but I was maybe a bit afraid to try. I really admire people who work on fast foods because they are able to multi task.

I think it is important to be able to multi task in todays world. Everything moves so fast and if you cannot multi-task you can't keep up. Now this is just my opinion but I am sure that others will agree with me. I know it is tiring but it is a necessity in my opinion.

I've always been one to multi-task. Even as a child I did. I'd watch tv and read a book at the same time (yes I could tell you what was happening in both) or do my homework at the same time. Just something I did. I do he same thing here on line. I will be posting here, talking with others, doing email, all at the same time. I don't really know how some can and others have trouble with it. I don't really think about it. If something needs to be done I do it.

Multi tasking is ok especially if you don't have a choice, for example in studies, household chores, friends. Life is so fast, time is so fast and for us to accomplish something we must work hard.
