Personally I don't want to dominate my husband and I don't wish to be dominated. Relationships should be equal with each having their own opinion and being respected by each other. I do have a friend whose ex wife used to dominate him. She would order him around and insult him in front of friends. He used to be a nervous wreck around her, always on edge and looked like a lost puppy. She left him in the end and it broke his heart but all his friends were secretly glad it happened. After a few months he gradually came out of his shell and found he enjoyed life better without her. I think perhaps someone who is domineering is using this as a defense method for insecurity so that they feel in control of something or someone.

Well marriage shouldn't be about dominating. It should be equal. Maybe something happened to you that makes you feel that way, not all marriages are like that

I think some women do. It depends on their personality. Personally, I have no desire to dominate my husband. I like a man who takes control of things and knows how to take care of me. On the other hand, I don't want him to dominate me either. I want to be able to make my own decisions and be treated with respect.
