you should take the time it has all the things that are hard to find in many of todays movies. Drama, comedy, love story, and action with good acting by the stars. These are hard to find all in same movies today. So many spend more time in onely one or two of these areas.. A good balanced movie for a rainy evening when channels are all repeats.

there are two versions on video tape.. the black and white orginal and the colorized version. Both are the same movie. The colorized version had color added by computer enhancement when Turner studios purchased the rights to the movie.

I love the old movies. African Queen is a classic. I spent many hours in my youth watching old movies on the boob tube.

I agree it is a good movie. I have only viewed the Black and white vesion. Black and white just seem to give it character that the color takes out. LOL

I thought the same when Trurner bought the rightrs and announce the plans to colorize. But haveing viewed both they in fact did a great job and color adds a new favor to an old classic.
