Sibling Rivalry vs Sibling Warfare

I watched a show call Nanny911 (http://www.fox.com/nanny911/) and brought back memories of my childhood and how my brothers used me as a punching bag even tossed me down the stairs a few times. So I have to ask...What is the difference between Sibling Rivalry and Sibling Warfare? Opinions anyone??

Ouch, my brother used to rough house with me, but nothing as extreme as your brother! I always thought as rivalry as a competing against one another, jealousy in a way and the warfare that's just pure hate with the intention of inflicting pain with no remorse.

jealousy is normal, my older brother is still jealous...he mad that I married first and graduated college first. He feels that since he was the olest he should have been the first and the favorite child.

I love this show. I watch it every week. Sibling rivalry is when siblings fight but in the end tell each other sorry or say that they love each other. Sibling Warfare is when there is constant fighting among the sibling that gets incredibly violent and is a constant thing there is not ever a break just fighting no matter what it is about.

well....
sibling rivalry is some thing like showing love on their siblings only at their presence and being hatred on their abscence...
whereas abt the warfare..it's something like just they donno what they are doing... they just want to themselves to be on the top and their feelings are open...
