I forgot my passphrase so inevitably, I really can't access my account so I emailed e-gold telling them that I forgot my password so I have to receive their temporary password so I can open my account but I have not received any emails from them (I wrote twice). What am I to do about it? email is the only way I can contact them but they are not replying. I'm beginning to get worried and irritated already.

That happened to me a few days ago but egold replied...you might wanna try to check your spam/bulk mail folder. it might have been automatically placed there. or if you have software that checks/scans spam such as norton antivirus.mcafee, etc,it could've tagged it as spam as well. Well I hope this info helps and i hope you get to access your egold acct.

Has this problem been solved already? Do you still have e-gold in that account? If you do not have e-gold in that account, just create a new one. That is allowed according to the FAQ section in e-gold.com, as long as you keep your account information valid. That is what I did when I forgot my passphrase. I e-mailed them first informing them that I forgot my passphrase. In the reply I got, I was told to type my complete postal address so that they could send me a temporary passphrase via postal mail. Due to security reasons, they are unable to provide a passphrase via e-mail. Well, that was last December 15. I do not know if they still send a temporary passphrase through postal mail. Geez, that could take long. So I decided to just create a new account.
I hope your problem will be resolved soon.

Sorry, was late for my advice, but I'm glad you finally found out a solution. To me, all my email address and account everywhere I always have a different password, so I always have a small notebook here for all my passwords in every account I have. And this notebook is always in my purse. So when I go out, even not at home, I can access my accounts.
