Big Brother,Big Sister

Has any one had a big brother or sister they are people who come into a childs life when they are missing a parent. I had one when I was 8 after my mom passed away she was the best thing that happened to me and still is the relationship usualy ends when the child hits their teens but she stayed my big sister and now each year for christmas she sends me and my children gifts we e-mail each other we are just like real sisters and the rest of her family has become my family.We did all kinds of fun things from curling my hair and building snowmen to shopping and going to electric light shows.

I wish that program was available in our community. I can think of many kids who could benefit from a big brother or big sister.

do you have a local Y or maybe your church could start up something simular I know my big sister helped me through a lot of tough times or maybe you can start one up your self you can go on line and look for sites pertaining to big brother,bigsisters and see what is required I do know you will want to apply to Idetective.com so you can check the backgrounds of the applicants for pedofiles and child abuse and any other criminal records.
