I'm blessed to be able to work at home, however, those who aren't have been fired because of the ice storm and the inability to get to work. A local lady was fired this week because she was not able to get to work after the ice storm caused her electricity to go out at her home. She was staying in a nearby shelter and was unable to get to work. The county she lives in was considered a natural disaster, what do you think her boss should have done?

I'M THINKING THAT HER BOSS SHOULD HAVE SHOWED A LITTLE COMPASSION...BUT MOST PEOPLE HAVE CELL PHONES THESE DAYS. I'M THINKING SHE SHOULD HAVE BEEN ABLE TO GET IN TOUCH TO TOUCH BASE *SOMEHOW*
BUT THEN AGAIN WITH A NATURAL DISASTER...TOUCHY SUBJECT!

I agree with you about her boss being more compassionate. However I must tell you something about ice storms and cell phones. We had a major ice storm last weekend and nobody's cell phone was working. Regular phone lines were out and electricity too. She may not have been able to even let him know she could not make it. It is really tough in this sort of situation.
