Well this condition is in the brain where the spinal fluid doesn't drain from the brain. Sometimes they don't know how it is caused. 2 in every 1000 births will a baby be born with hydrocephalus. The treatment to my son's hydrocephalus is that he had a shunt (which is a tube they put in his brain to drain the fluid down to his abdomen) The affects this condition it could have on my son is he can develop seziures, mental problems, everything else I won't know until he gets older. I don't know if he will ever make a full reconvery but he is doing everything that a 11 1/2 month old should be doing.
