my download speed just 7-8 kbps (it's better than those dialed up here in indonesia which gift only 2-3 kbps download speed)
so what about yours ? your internet bandwith, speed, and cost per month in your country / area that you're using ?

I got a good deal here. Im in sydney, and I use ADSL here. I pay around 64AUD per month, but I got unlimited download and the download speed is 1.5mb. I think it is very good. Definitely much better deal than most of Asian country, especially Indonesia right?

Hi , nice discussion !
I am subscribed to LTT ADSL service here in Libya , its a new service only opened one year ago , it provides 265kb connection with a monthly traffic limit of 5 GB , and the price is 50 Libyan Dinars per month or around 60 US Dollars .
The connection is great , however lately the quality is becoming a little worse than before , because the company is offering as publicity FREE dialup for everybody ,this put a great load on their servers and made it bad for their paying customers , all in the hope of attracting new customers .I cant complain , though because I won a contest they did in Ramadan where they asked trivia about their company (LTT Libya) , I won 500 Libyan Dinars credit (free ADSL for 10 months !)

hmmm ... there's more than 220 million people here in indonesia, 10% are rich, while the rest are poor, so that means there's 22 million rich people in indonesia, it's more than singapore population, or all of australia population. Well i guess that's right, although indonesian's average income per year is $1000, but the spread of the rich and the poor are so wide.
about the expensive rate, then i guess it depends on goverments rules and political interest. it's nice to discuss with you shogunly =) thanks

wow, so you win a contest ! how lucky you are =) Here in indonesia we have that ADSL service also, provided by the goverment company, the speed is 256 kbps but the download limited to only 1 Gb per month, and the fee is around $35 ... so your rate is still cheaper compared with the rate here in indonesia, yet your country is richer than mine ... that's some kind of anomaly for me ... i wonder why the rate is so expensive here in indonesia ... hmmm

I use 1.5 Mbps unlimited download and I have to pay every month. its pretty fast with download speed can be up to 150 kbps. but sometimes its so slow and can reach down to 24kpbs and very rarely, can be 7-10 kbps. I have to pay A$64.50. By the way, I live in AAustralia

yes i knew you're in australia, but that's good point to write that so others can see the rates there in australia. 150 kbps ? that's 20 times faster than me T-T and the price is only 2,5 times more expensive. I don't mind paying that much for 1.5 Mbps unlimited download ... But that makes me think that the opportunity for isp here in indonesia are still wide open. =) maybe someday i'll build my own isp.

It's almost pretty much the same, for internet connection here in the UK; I believe.
The broadband connection start from £17.99 - £50 perhabs.
My speed is 8Mbps, and so far I have no complains in using this provider of mine.

the bills are pretty much the same i guess, but the quality are so much different. 8 Mbps ? ... *faint* ... mine only 64 kbps, download speed only 7 kbps ... *sigh* yet we pay almost the same price.
UK are far richer than indonesia, how come they charge you cheaper than indonesian people ... seems a little bit unfair ...

I don't pay for my internet connexion. I am a student and I live in the university campus. We here have free internet connection, we share a big network over the all hostels.
The internet speed is great, we can download sometimes from the internet with 1MBs and from the network with 3 or 4 MBs.

whoa ... 1Mbps download ? ... geez, that kind of speed is distributed for one whole office building here ... and it's free ? ... your university is really facilitating you well then, here in indonesia, ussually the university limiting their students for 1 - 2 hour usage per day, and the speed is so lousy...

Hmm my internet bill per month maybe arround Rp 400,000 - 600,000 /month (in US $ maybe arround $43 - 66) and I have using ADSL connection for my own Internet. Speed of my Internet the theory is 384 kbps/ second but the fact maybe just 256 kbps / second or less than that. for the cost in my country in Indonesia for ADSL connection was I'm using is 1 gigabyte is Rp 300.000 / month (it's arround US $33)
