Why There is no Woman as a President in US, so far?

It's an interesting question. I think the environment in America has been slowly changing over the past hundred years so that this has become more and more likely, and now we can actually speak of it as a real possibility. The first woman in congress was in 1917, first in the presidential cabinet was 1933. But I think we will see one soon, within my lifetime at least, because we have seen in the past 30-40 years or so, women rising to the ranks of the highest positions of power in a great deal of countries (Margaret Thatcher, Indira Gandhi, Rita Johnston in Canada), and I think the US will be joining these ranks soon.

Probably for the same reason there has not been a black president yet. I think the Americans just are not ready yet. They do have some kind of prejudice when it comes to the crunch. It's the top job, and will they trust a black or female in charge?? I hope and pray that they can take the step... To be honest I would prefer to see someone like Oprah running the country over George "Adolf" Bush... (sorry but I don't like the guy). Love and light.

That is the mystery of Americans. I wish Mrs. Clinton will make it to whitehouse for the good of americans.

I think it is because until Hillary Clinton officially made her stand to run for President, no one reallt wanted to take this attempt, and see if they could do it. That is a lot of responsibility and Stress for anyone to want to take on, and I feel it takes a Strong willed woman with some abilities to want to do this. Hillary is a Good choice. Just wonder if the US is really wanting her in.

President elected base on trust and get peoples vote. So far there is no Woman as President of USA is because people of america don't trust a woman to rule they country yet. But history has a first time. Maybe now woman is trusted to become a President of USA. Maybe Hillary as the first? who knows.
