Is there a wrong way to bread fried chicken

I like it personally in only flour with lots of seasonings. I have however done it in many other mediums like bread crumbs, pancake mix or cracker crumbs. I prefer a dry breading as opposed to like a tempura style batter breading. What do you all think is the best way?

I like to make a seasoned egg wash, one with some hot sauce in it as well. Then i bread the chicken in well seasoned bread crumbs or else i use well seasoned flour. I also fry it in Olive Oil, but i use that for everything lol
