Yes, I had 2 cats and they understood my words, and even they used to appreciate my feelings and used to soothe me when I needed help, So I think that they understand us better than we understand them.

I believe so. I have a cat now that will respond when I ask questions. If she comes to me meowing, I'll ask her what she wants, and tell her to show me what the problem is. Then she will run to the location that she wants to take me.

I believe they are very intuitive to humans feelings. When I had my two cats a few years ago and I was going through a bad time, they always seemed to know that I was down and would shower me with cuddles and love. They made me feel better and I miss their company so much. Hoping to get more cats in the next few months as I love them.

I believe animals have a sensitivity to our mood and the energy we give off whether its positive or negative. Sure animals can recognize a word or few words, but only because you've repeated it to them with the same results, like when I ask my dog if she wants to go "out", she gets all excited and runs for the door.
