Yes, I can float on water without any assistance or gadget. You just need get comfortable, let your feet feel as though they're higher than your body and completely relax every muscle in your body. You can float for ages. It's easier in salt water for some reason, like the sea, but it's quite possible in a swimming pool. All you need is to relax and concentrate.

Your reply is precisely correct.
There is one more position as under.
Fold your legs in padmasana like,
strech your body plan on the water surface with face looking to sky.
fold your hand on the chest,
Breath comfortably and enjoy floating for whatever time you want too.
In your case the legs may start tired after few hours.
In the other case you even can go asleep.
i shall demonstrate this through video as and when time will permit.

No i cannot float on the water without any support. I dont think so that anyone can do it so. We can do it with the help of a live jacket or a float tube , but not without it.

You should wait till some more people to answer your discussion before giving best answer. Nobody would be interested to answer a marked question.
I thind we're all capable of floating but you have to able to relax your body in the water- including you head sink back into the water which some people aren't happy with. It's lovely and relaxing ina a calm sea.

I have purposly started a discussion in which
I dared to ask my friends on mylot about the same doubt, that if I select a response as a best response would you like to respond it still?
And surprisingly this discussion recieved so many positive responses saying they don't care the best responce instead they love replying and discussing the topics as they want.
In case if the first response is best why to wait more than a week to appreciate him, the late comers normally miss the trains they intend to aboard.

I cant float initially, it takes me a month to learn to float as I just cant grasp the proper tactic that my instructor taught me,but I am very determined and I finally managed to float still without the help of any swimming aids. The reason I need longer time to float according to my instructor is... I am born with bad buoyancy and that I tensed up when doing the floating.
