I would think at the age of 3 he is now in the habit of waking up and getting a bottle. I think what you need to do is talk to him, tell him if he wakes up he will not be getting a bottle as this also is not good for his teeth. I would also talk to him perhaps about giving his bottle to someone that might need it more, or perhaps leave it out for the bottle fairy to collect or maybe after talking to him saying what a big boy he is now and encourage him to put his bottle in the bin. When he wakes you will need to use a firm voice (not yelling) and tell him it is night time you need to go back to sleep, you may need to do this several times (this I guess is kinda like controlled crying, I used it on my son when he was about 11months old and it worked like a charm) You will need to be strong and be able to persevere for a few restless nights and probably they will be worse than before because he is not getting what he is used to, but it will be worth the effort. Good luck
