RCMP to the rescue
Guess this was just an opportunity to
show off the rescue equipment!
An RCMP (Royal Canadian Mounted Police) officer
stopped to help a stranded rider standing
beside a stalled motorcycle in the mountains.
was extremely cold, and the rider was heavily dressed
in a helmet, balaclava and snowmobile suit.
In a muffled voice, the rider told the Mountie
that the carburetor was frozen.
A motorcyclist himself, the Mountie remembered
an old trick for just such an occasion.
"Try peeing on it," the Mountie said,
"that should unfreeze it."
"Can't," replied the rider.
So the helpful Mountie took out his own equipment
and liberally hosed down the carburetor,
and the bike soon fired up.
A few days later, the local detachment received a thank you
note from a father, grateful for the roadside assistance
his young daughter had received from the RCMP.

Oh my stars!!!!!!!!!! His face must have been soo red when he say the note from the father.
I have tears in my eyes from laughing.
They do try to be helpful. We had a young RCMP (city born and bred) stop in at the house to tell us that one of our horses was in distress. He was driving by and saw this poor horse writhing in pain he said.
I quickly pulled on some boots and went out to the pasture with him only to find 3 horses writhing in pain now......it was not pain though it was pleasure, they had found a nice spot to get down and roll in some mud. They were having a great time out there.
The poor guy was so embarassed

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police are well know world wide for what they do ... but this was probably the first time this has happened to one of them. Imagine his shock and embarassment when he received the thank you letter from the father ... no doubt the girl was a bit too embarassed to write a thank you letter to him. Can you just see the Citation he could receive for such a brave act in rescuing this stranded young girl.
However this action could have saved the life of this young girl .. so while the story does have a very funny side to it .. it also shows the human side of people too. Thanks very much for posting this story and sharing it with others.

Wow! I am glad that the RCMP officer was there to save the young girl's life. I did not realize that urine was good to defrost things. It has been said that putting urine on your feet will cure Athlete's Foot disease. I have used urine for Athlete's Foot disease and found that it really does work.

LOL! I always knew the RCMP were a helpful bunch!
It makes me wonder if the officer could have been arrested for indecent exposure LOL, although in such cold weather, I'm surprised he was able to manage to pee to start with.
Not to be crude but don't mens "tackle" shrivel up in the cold?

Canadians (and Russians) know how to keep ANYTHING and EVERYTHING warm during the winter!! ;-) I'm sure if he was going to get arrested he could explain that this was the only thing he know to do to get the thing to unfreeze. As someone stated earlier, he may have saved the girl's life! Besides that letter from her father would have likely gotten him out of trouble, had he been arrested prior to receiving it.

That is great. Here in The States the only image of the Mountie is Dudley Do Right.I didn't like him when I was little And really hate him now.I don't know of any cop down here that would help a rider exactly like that.
