Sometimes I cannot sleep due to worries. I start doing meditation and even then if I do not get sleep, I start reading books. Then I get sleep. I always feel one should fix the timing for sleep and approximately at that time, one should get into sleep. So also for waking up in the morning.

Hi there.. Though I get sound sleep almost everynight, but whenever I don't get it, I feel extremely frustrated... And that happens only when I am tensed over smthing, or when I had watched a horror movie last night.. But most of the time, I am extremely tired and get sleep easily...

Stress. I worry a lot about the what if's. Bills keep me awake. Also the day I had at work keeps me awake. I do most of my thinking when I go to bed at night and there is nothing to distract me. So the thoughts in my head seem really loud and keep me awake.

When am faced with a problem and I was soooooo angry, my brain couldn't shut up for sleep for many days because my brain was quarreling the person, my enemy. My skin in the face wrinkled due to poor blood circulation, due to anemia already, so, I prayed and give my anger to Lord Jesus, I surrendered everything because am eaten up with my anger. I decded to console myself by granting forgiveness, that was the time my nerves calmed down and sleep came to me even in daytime. I have now recovered from my wrinkles and have a peaceful mind and heart...lol...

Anything and everything keeps me awake! I'm a worryer and probably worry about things that I shhouldn't...just can't help it though. Lately, I've been worrying about money and I worry about my family (I live 2 hours away so I feel left out a lot of the time, plus my mother is my best friend and I never see her).

If I have a hectic day the next day I will usually have trouble sleeping the night before. My mind just won't stop thinking about tomorrow and let me get to sleep. I try to read a bit before going to bed when I feel like that. It makes me sleepy sometimes, other times I won't be able to get to sleep till four in the morning. When I think too much before I fall asleep I end up giving myself nightmares. Stress seems to be the only thing that keeps me awake. Apart from that I can fall asleep as soon as my head hits the pillow.

The day I had keeps me awake! I can be so tired and can't wait to go to bed, and then once I'm there...Everything that happened all through the day goes through my head! And different scenarios of how I could have done things differently at the time. I wish I could just shut off my day, but I haven't learned how to do that, yet!

And first you should discuss the issue yourself! What keeps *you* awake?
I have restless legs syndrome, and it is a problem even thugh I take aprescription medicine for it. health problems probably acccount for poor sleep for many people.
Stress and bad conscience are common problems that keep many people awake, too.

Usally when I have a lot of stuff on my mind thats what keeps me up at night time. Like if Im starting a job the next day I would be thinking about that job continuslely and how its going to be. Or like the first day of school I would be thinking of school a lot and how its going to be. Stuff like that makes me not be able to sleep at night time.

When I can't sleep, which is most of the time, I find that I can't turn my mind off. I find myself thinking about whether or not I am ready for the next day; is the laundry all done? Dishes done? Dogs fed? Kids sleeping well? Did I do all of my studying for the next class? Am I going to pass that test? Will I be able to finish school by Christmas? Will I be able to take care of my children once my divorce is final? How will my finances be?
All of that runs through my head, with or without music, tv, white noise, anything. I wish I could take sleeping pills sometimes, but I am to worried that I will not here one of the kids if they wake up and need me.
