i have made flowers and many other designs out of different types of coloured non-acid free paper and then covered them with contact. Do any of you scrapbookers know if contact is acid free or not, thanks for your help and enjoy long hours of scrappin' :)

I'm just not sure what material is used to make contact, but your best bet would be to buy an acid-tester pen or PH testing pen to see if the contact you used is safe for your photos and scrapbook pages.

As long as you avoid putting the items you make directly on your photos you don't have to worry about the acid. All that will happen is that over time they will fade. You can use anything you want in your scrapbooks as long as you don't put them directly on your photos. If you want to put the flowers on photos then I would highly suggest using an acid/legion (sp) free paper.

Mlkfaith7, i also forgot to mention, you can choose to buy a de-acidifying spray or archival mist (check out Krylon's spray products) so you can just spray your non-acid free paper or your contacts, to be safe. Better yet, just buy a lot of cardstocks so you can use them to make your flowers and other designs, at least you're sure they're acid free. Happy scrapbooking :)
