Is racism a problem native to the western world only or is it just as much a reality of the indian society.

We definitely have racism in India. In fact, we have this weird situation of racism + self-hatred and it makes a weird combination at times. The racism in us makes it easy for people to pass comments that others (specifically white) people are racists; make insulting comments about black people; and even make fun of people from China and Japan. I don't even need to go into the disgusting details, you all know what I'm talking about. At the same time, we're a country where we not only shamelessly peddle 'fairness' creams, but also belive that fair is beautiful. And of course fair = white. Therefore, that self hatred is also very much prevalent. We are not happy with our skin. Therefore we resent the skins of those who we wish to be like (in our inferiority complex) and deride everyone else.
