Do we live in an inherently Violent culture?

Why do you see the image of a gun every time you turn on the TV? Why do the biggest grossing movies in the world have violent stories? What is it about violence that we crave in our entertainment? Are we by nature violent creatures? You would think so, especially in America with the continuous wars. What is wrong with us to crave seeing this kind of stuff on the screen as a way to "relax" or escape from life?

I do think there is a violent side to human nature. I don't know why we like the shoot out type movies but I do like em myself. Probably just the excitement factor.

May be because there is a beast in every human being even though it is hidden most of the time yet sometimes its appears in a voilent ways therefore we can say that somewhat we live in a voilent culture.
