Tomlin the new head coach?

A decision probably won't be made till Monday at the earliest. Bears have a very good shot at losing to the Saints today and they'd like to be able to get their second interview with Ron Rivera. If the Bears win, it sucks but the Steelers probably won't wait for him. Tomlin would be a good choice for the job, I only hope that Russ Grimm stays on board. The Oakland job is still open, but no one wants it.

Wpxi in Pittsburgh said tonight they had offered it to Grimm, then tehy approached him and said they were taking offer back. They said they are going to offer Tomlin the job. If this is true,that is kind of cruel to offer Grimm the job and then to take back offer.

Wow, ESPN reporting it now too. I still don't think it's been made official, but it's been leaked by a few major sources now. He'll be a good fit, I just hope we hang onto Russ. Now we cnn all speculate on the draft =P

I am so glad the search for the New Coach is over, and I am glad Mike Tomlin got the job. They did a side by side analysis and he resembled Bill Cowher. I am confident the Pittsburgh will be in the playoffs next season.

The Steelers site says that a new coach has not been given a contract and nothing will be announced today. Although I hope this is a false statement. I really want them to just pick a coach so they can work out off season strategies, draft stuff, any changes to personnel and the organization and so forth.

I think that depends on whether or not the Bears win today. If the Bears win the Rooneys arent going to want to wait until after the Super Bowl so they will hire Mike Tomlin. If the Bears lose then the Rooneys will probably speak with Rivera tomorrow. In any event I think Mike Tomlin will be the coach the question is just when

really think I should keep up with sports but I dont . Is a good person for the job?

I hope they announce something soon. I agree with one of the other posters, they just need to make a decision so that the team can move on and start working toward next year. It sure will be weird next year not seeing Bill on the side lines....
