i will suggest u to go for intel core 2 duo processor becoz presently its the best in performance..
if u donot prefer core 2 duo then u can go for pentium D (dual core) also.
When it comes to HDDs then i think u should go for seagate's 80GB or 120GB HDD. As far as i know 80GB HDD will cost u around 5000 to 5500 grands.
The flaws with higher memory disks is that u can store a lot of data but if there is no proper defragmentation or cleaning of the drive then the disk may cause u trouble like slower browsing, crashes, data loss etc

You should buy a Pentium dual core 1 Gb RAM a HDD of 120Gb or 250 GB the money difference is not that greate a Geforce 6700 a DVDRW and a LCD 19inc.
This is my PC in fat i have AMD 3000+ and 2Gb RAM but a dual core is better.
I am satisfied of my PC i really works well and there is no game that doesn't work on it.

I don't think you wanna talk about configuration, ya wanna talk about what hardware ya got or specifications of a Computer.

intel sucks....
AMD is the best u can get their multicore quadcore n octal core processors are about to hit the market they will beat intel... these are 64 bit processors n costs less then intel's processors core 2 duo extreem will costs us $1000...

If you are on a budget, I'd suggest you purchase an AMD-based PC. It is cheaper and performs like an Intel. A minimum of 512MB of RAM, a 128MB videocard (for gaming, high-definiton videos, etc.), a separate soundcard (for better sound quality and setup), at least an 80GB HD. =)
